UAE Delegation Visits the Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service ************************************ Addis Ababa, July 6, 2026                   -----------        A delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) paid an official visit to the Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service (EPOS) to gain first-hand insight into the institution's rehabilitation services, assistive technology production, and ongoing institutional development initiatives. During the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of EPOS, Dr. Tariku Tadesse, expressed his sincere appreciation for the longstanding partnership between the UAE and EPOS. He highlighted the UAE's significant contribution to the institution's growth through the provision of prosthetic and orthotic manufacturing machinery, raw materials, and capacity-building training for professionals.He noted that this support has played a vital role in strengthening EPOS's institutional capacity and expanding access to quality rehabilitation services across Ethiopia. Dr. Tariku also provided the delegation with a comprehensive overview of EPOS's current operations, achievements, and strategic priorities. The two sides held productive discussions on opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in areas including institutional capacity building, technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the sustainable development of rehabilitation and assistive technology services.
