Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Services
About : Ethiopian Prosthetic Orthotic Service The government of Ethiopia decided to merge the POC and the Gefersa Mental Rehabilitation Center into one entity to address the respective bottlenecks. Thus, Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service (EPOS) were established by counsel minister regulation NO. 486/2021 as alegal entity under the MOH with the aims to:
- Produce, maintain, and provide assistive technologies
- Provide accessible, quality, and client-oriented prosthetic and orthotic and other rehabilitation services to the community
- Provide short- and long-term trainings on prosthetic and orthotic services in collaboration with oth er institutions
- Conduct research to provide technology-based services
Mission
To provide high quality comprehensive rehabilitation service and assistive technology through implementing evidence based, technology assisted care and products that is affordable in an equitable manner
